About the Author

Author of the book Ingalls on the Prairie, R. Lee Ingalls, is a member of the Ingalls family that was the subject of the Little House on the Prairie books and TV series, and he has written a book about another generation of the Ingalls family. Growing up in the family, R. Lee Ingalls was often asked “Whatever happened to the Ingalls family?”, and now there is his novel to answer that question. His passion is telling the story of the working-class American, and continuing the legacy that began with Laura Ingalls Wilder. Add to that, he has been gifted with boxes of a family history that he would like to share with the world.

About the Book

This is the story from the Midwestern Ingalls family of Little House on the Prairie fame. It follows early years of Gene and Fern Ingalls. The book offers a short history of their ancestors, the childhoods of both, how they met, and finally their marriage which resulted in bringing eight children into the world.

From the time they were wed until their older children began to leave home, they endured more tragedy and happiness than most couples do in a lifetime. The two managed through all of this all while raising eight kids in the ever-changing landscape of America of the 50s and 60s.
